On 29 November, La Laguna will once again be transformed into a large open-air stage where culture, commerce and family entertainment will come together. This commemorative edition promises a day full of music, activities and a festive atmosphere in the heart of the historic centre.
Noche en Blanco (White Night) 2025
La Laguna City Council is preparing a new edition of Noche en Blanco, an event that will once again turn the historic centre into a major hub for commerce, culture and community life. This year, the date coincides with Black Friday, which will position the municipality as the island’s shopping epicentre at the start of the Christmas season and reinforce its appeal as a leading shopping destination in the Canary Islands.
The Mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, stressed that ‘Noche en Blanco symbolises the vitality and participatory spirit of our city. This year, it also takes on special significance as it coincides with the 25th anniversary of La Laguna’s declaration as a World Heritage Site, a milestone that invites us to celebrate the cultural and heritage wealth of our municipality while continuing to promote its economic revitalisation’.
The councillor emphasised that ‘the combination of a diverse cultural programme, the talent of our artists and the involvement of local businesses will make this one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year. La Laguna will once again be filled with life from early morning until the early hours of the morning, with thousands of people enjoying a unique and safe environment’.
For her part, the Councillor for Commerce, Estefanía Díaz, explained that ‘this edition maintains the spirit with which the White Night was born, which is none other than to support the business community of La Laguna and offer a complete experience for the whole family to enjoy.’ Díaz highlighted that ‘the programme of family activities has been reinforced so that both residents and visitors can enjoy a day full of cultural, musical and commercial activities, designed for all audiences and ages.’
Díaz announced that the event will feature a significant presence of local talent combined with nationally renowned artists, including the participation of a Latin Grammy Award-winning group, ‘a showcase of the quality and diversity of the musical scene that this edition will offer’.
The councillor also reminded attendees that the consignments will be back to facilitate shopping and make the experience more comfortable for those who wish to stroll through the streets of downtown La Laguna and enjoy the programme with greater freedom. ‘Every year we learn from the previous experience to continue improving, balancing tradition and innovation and ensuring that the White Night is a safe, accessible and sustainable event,’ she added.
She also thanked the municipal departments of Citizen Participation and Municipal Services, Festivals, Sports, Youth and Education, Culture and Local Development, and Heritage for their collaboration, as well as the coordination with Public Safety, ‘whose involvement is key to ensuring that everything runs smoothly and in a festive atmosphere.’
In this edition, we have worked closely with the Social Welfare department to reinforce our commitment to accessibility and inclusion, reviewing the programme and adapting activities wherever possible to facilitate participation by everyone. In addition, La Noche en Blanco will have orange and purple points, with staff trained to provide assistance and prevent situations of vulnerability or violence.
La Noche en Blanco has established itself as one of the most emblematic events on the La Laguna calendar, combining economic revitalisation, culture, music and participation, and this year it will also pay tribute to the historical and heritage legacy of a city that proudly celebrates its 25th anniversary as a World Heritage Site.
